Accident And Incident Investigation

Service Overview

OSHA defines an Accident as an “unplanned, undesired event, not necessarily resulting in injury, but damaging to property and/ or interrupting the activity in process”; an Incident as “an undesired event that may cause personal harm or other damage” and Near-miss as an incident where no property was damaged and no personal injury sustained, but where, given a slight shift in time or position, damage and/ or injury could have easily occurred. OSHA requires employers to promptly investigate all workplace accidents and incidents regardless of severity, to ensure accurate information is obtained.

The investigation provides employers and workers with the opportunity to identify hazards in their operations and shortcomings in their safety and health programs. Most importantly, it enables employers and workers to identify and implement corrective actions necessary to prevent future incidents. c, and not on finding fault or blame, thereby improving workplace morale and productivity, by demonstrating an employer’s commitment to a safe and healthy workplace.
